Jessica Meya is an award-winning writer and Breakthrough Artist alum with a strong passion for character-driven stories. She has written for CBC and HBO Max’s 'Detention Adventure', CTV and Roku Channel’s ‘Children Ruin Everything’, and the upcoming Paramount+ drama series, ‘Skymed’. She was the 2020 recipient of ACTRA Toronto’s Sandi Ross Award for her work as co-founder of the Toronto-based diversity initiative ‘Working the Scene in Colour’ and won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Writing, Children’s or Youth for her work on ‘Detention Adventure’.
Jessica is currently writing a western miniseries pilot as a participant in the WarnerMedia Access x Canadian Academy Writers Program.
